Beginning a New Relationship

Few things can be more fragile than starting a new relationship with someone. It's important to take each step in turn and not hurry through those important early stages where intimacy is being established. Let's look at the ways in which you can maintain a sensible pace in a new relationship. This will hopefully avoid it ending before its time and instead give everything the best chance to succeed.

As we all know, there are no hard and fast rules in relationships. We are all individuals and each relationship will therefore be unique. In general, relationships work best when things happen gradually giving each person an even curve to adapt themselves to the other. This not only goes for intimacy but also everyday things like the amount of time you spend together. By taking care to ensure the relationship unfolds in a gradual manner, each person is able to adjust with the maximum amount of ease and comfort.

Even though this new relationship may be providing your life with a sudden burst of excitement try to stay on an even keel. Don't neglect the relationships with your friends or family just because a someone new is on the scene, stay balanced and remember that those important people deserve the best from you always.

Keeping balanced, realistic and even in your movements within the relationship is something you can govern for yourself but you may also find you have to do it for the other person too. All too easily your partner can be the one who is rushing and needs to slow down. Remember that the state of your relationship is your responsibility so take care of it in these fragile early stages. By doing so you're giving everyone involved the best chance of succeeding and finding happiness into the future.
